Love is about... a lot of things. Kindness, trust, appreciation. Affection. Timing. And most of all, about choosing. In the beginning, it's choosing to say yes. To be open to adventure and going down a new path with a new someone. And then it's a new choice: to say yes to a lifetime of adventure, to a path that'll most certainly veer off in unexpected ways, to make the decision that life is better together- more balanced, more fun, more worth it than not.
Two years ago, New Orleans sat on my someday-travel wish list, staring me in the face every time a long weekend presented itself... and I never bit. My first visit last spring came about from a wedding along the bayou and a few weeks ago, I was able to go back- this time, for another amazing wedding, set in a veritable photographer's paradise and between two best friends choosing each other. I'm still pretty much floating on cloud nine that I was able to be a part of this whole thing. A creole cottage-turned-wedding venue, palm trees, and enough big blue sky to rival the stretches out West. Beignets instead of wedding cake. A pig roast, cigars and scotch in the old slave quarters, and friends and family so full of love for Emma and Zach, it left me smiling for days afterwards at the memory. I can't say enough lovely things about this beautiful day. To Emma and Zach, infinite thanks for the honor of being a part of your wedding. Love, happiness, and many, many adventures to you both. Life is short. Live big. xo, Krista
