Ever since I photographed Rachel and John's wedding last month, I've had a song in my head- I hum it as I go through the motions of my days and sing it under my breath when it comes to me throughout each day. I've taught it to my daughters and we sing it at bed time sometimes. It's a song from Rachel and John's wedding ceremony- Onawa's Waltz- and it's the most fitting way I can describe the experience of their wedding day- it left such a meaningful impression on my heart, worked its way in so much that this song, their day, will stay with me and surely every single one of their guests forever. Much like their engagement session, they made it a point to stop and play music together on their wedding day- surrounded by North Georgia's rolling hills and vineyards. They incorporated Chuukese wedding gifts as a nod to their time in Micronesia, passed their rings amongst all of their guests to warm them with their love and blessings, and made their day the most beautiful encompassment of their life together. Rachel and John, I'm so honored and humbled to have been a part of your wedding day. Love to you both and happy adventuring in Africa this next year! xo, Krista
I have been waiting all the day long
To see the light in your eyes
My love, come dance with me now, see how the evening flies
And, as you sleep my dear, know that I'll be near
To hold you when you arise.
