“And I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.'“ - Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
A wedding can be so many things- for some, it’s big and raucous and a huge celebration. For others, it’s small and intimate and maybe even kept secret. But no matter how they’re packaged, they’re an exceptionally nice thing to be a part of because joy is contagious. All day long on Beth and Kyle’s wedding day, there was a joyfulness in the air that felt palpable- as Beth and her bridesmaids got ready for the day to the soundtrack of old records in the living room, I felt it. When Beth and Kyle saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, I felt it. When they exchanged their vows and danced with their parents and were toasted by their loved ones all under the same roof, I felt it. And I thought of Kurt Vonnegut, because Beth and Kyle’s happiness had swept through the room and swept through all of us, and what’s nicer than celebrating joy and love with two people as lovely as these two? Absolutely nothing. ❤ B+K, thank you for your trust and kindness and sharing your happiness with all of us that day.
