"Working on this dream with you."
Jackie and Jon first brought me on board for their wedding last fall, but we didn't actually meet in person for quite awhile- a pretty common thing with destination weddings. But earlier this summer, the stars aligned and we finally did meet, tucked away in a little coffee shop in Brooklyn, the New York borough they call home. Right away, they felt like the opposite of strangers- instead, we dove straight into conversation: about their lives, their wedding, and the dreams they were working on together.
Their entire wedding weekend was filled to the brim with the most thoughtful details as they poured their hearts into every part of the weekend- especially through music. Y'all, there was music everywhere. Zydeco wafted through the air at their rehearsal dinner on Friday night at the always-lovely Pitot House. Kinfolk Brass Band welcomed their guests with tubas and trombones and a true taste of Louisiana. Their friend Angel Olsen sang for their ceremony (and we all wiped our tears alongside them). And then we danced and paraded and second lined in the streets, because to know Jackie and Jon is to dance with them and it was one of my favorite days I've ever had.
Jackie and Jon, thank you for the incomparable honor of being a part of your wedding day, and here's to a lifetime of working on more dreams together. Much love to you both! xo, Krista
