We dance even if there's no radio. We drink at funerals. We talk too much and laugh too loud and live too large and, frankly, we're suspicious of others who don't.
- Chris Rose
When a New Year's Eve in New Orleans calls you, you answer. And when it's for a wedding between two people like Valeri and Kyle, you've truly hit the jackpot. From our earliest emails and phone calls, Valeri felt like a friend, and when December 31 finally came, with sparklers and (District) doughnuts and music filling every courtyard, nook, and cranny of Race + Religious, it became a New Year's Eve that will forever be impossible to top. When the rain came, we weathered it together (per the lovely card and treats Valeri had sent to my hotel room). Kyle's brother officiated their ceremony, the bride and groom tended their own bar for their guests, and their families and friends danced and danced and danced. What a night, what a city, and what a perfect way to ring in a marriage.
